Anger - Bible & Anger

Listen to what Jesus teaching us about anger from
Bible (Mathew 5:21-26)
"You have heard that people were told in the past, "Do not commit murder: any one who does will be brought to trial. But now I tell you; whoever is angry with his brother will be brought to trial, whoever calls his brother 'You good-for-nothing!' will be brought before the Council, and whoever calls his brother a worthless fool will be in danger of going to the fire of hell. So If you are about to offer your gift to God at the alter and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter, go at once and make peace with your brother, and then come back and offer your gift to God.
" If someone brings a lawsuit against you and takes you to court, settle the dispute with him while there is time before you get to court. Once you are there, he will hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to the police, and you will be put in jail. There you will stay, I tell you, until you pay the last penny of your fine.                                            Mathew 5:21-26

Bible: Genesis 49:7 (New International Version)
Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel!  I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel.

Bible: Exodus 32:19 (New International Version)
When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain.

Yes it’s human to get angry but we need to have self control before we react because a word spoke or action done cannot be revoked and it has it’s own consequences. See what happened even to Moses a great man of God. In his anger he broke the tablets created by God.

Bible: Proverbs 15:18 (New International Version)
A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.

Here is how God deals with his anger when we do mistakes
Bible: Psalm 30:5 (New International Version)
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Bible: Psalm 37:8 (New International Version)
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret - it leads only to evil.

These clearly show that Jesus does not want us to be angry and if we hold on to our anger it result is only in evil.

Bible: Proverbs 22:24-25 (New International Version)
Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered,  25 or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.
Bible also teaches us that being with people who get angry soon could change us also to become so. So be cautious in chousing friends.

Bible: Proverbs 29:22 (New International Version)
An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.

Bible: Ephesians 4:26-27
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27and do not give the devil a foothold.

Bible: Proverbs 14:17 (New International Version)
A quick-tempered man does foolish things, and a crafty man is hated.

So let’s stay away from anger. As it’s human to become angry let’s pray God to give us self-control to overcome anger.
