Divorce - Bible and Divorce

The First Marriage

God created Adam the first man, as he was alone God created a women as a helper for Adam. It's written in the Bible Genesis 2:18
The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."
Bible also states in Genesis 2:20-24
So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man."
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.      Genesis 2:20-24

From the above Bible verse it is very clear that a man has to marry a women only and their marriage unites them as one in flesh. So any relationship other than this is not correct in the sight of the Creator God.

If so when can a person divorce?

Teaching of Jesus About Divorce

Jesus teaches us through the Bible when a person can divorce and how to live after divorce.
Jesus said in Bible Mathew 5:31-32
"It was also said, 'Any one who divorces his wife must give her a written notice of divorce,' But now I tell you: if a man divorces his wife, for any cause other than her unfaithfulness, then he is guilty of making her commit adultery if she marries again; and the man who marries her commits adultery also.         Mathew 5:31-32

God Hates Divorce

God created man & women to raise good Godly children and to lead a happy life. When God found a man or a women not obeying His words regarding marriage, God stops answering to prayers etc.

God says through Bible in Malachi 2:13-16
This is another thing you do. You drown the Lord's altar with tears, weeping and wailing because he no longer accepts the offerings you bring him. You ask why he no longer accepts them. It is because he knows you have broken your promise to the wife you married when you were young. She was your partner, and you have broken your promise to her, although you promised before God that you would be faithful to her. Didn't God make you one body and spirit with her? What was his purpose in this? It was that you should have children who are truly God's people. So make sure that none of you breaks his promise to his wife. " I hate divorce," says the Lord God of Israel. "I hate it when one of you does such a cruel thing to his wife. Make sure that you do now break your promise to be faithful to your wife."     Malachi 2: 13-16

Bible Hebrews 13:4
Marriage is to be honored by all, and husbands and wives must be faithful to each other. God will judge those who are immoral and those who commit adultery.     Hebrews 13:4

As the Lord hates Divorce, let's obey the words of God and keep up the wedding promises and live a happy & blessed life.
